From the West: January 2013

Brethren,

I want to thank you all for your vote of confidence in electing me to be your Senior Warden for the ensuing masonic year. I hope to exceed your expectations in the performance of my duties and become the personification of those dynamic strengths which I have been so solemnly entrusted to represent.

It is my belief that we are on the cusp of a new age in Freemasonry – one that is fast approaching and one toward which we as Honolulu Lodge F & AM have gallantly advanced. Through these advances, we have forsaken the accumulation of comforts and subsequent complacency in order to unearth and reap the opportunities of great blessings.

Let us remember that any challenges we face are not sent to discourage us, but to provide us with the opportunity to gain wisdom and shine light on what is truly meaningful and important. For it is during the times of great difficulty that we become aware of strengths we never knew we possessed.

Let us look to our most treasured Masonic values to find our strength, ever remembering that for each challenge that crosses our path, we are provided a new opportunity to discover new dimensions of our ancient craft, our brothers, and ourselves.
